About
I'm Devon Windsor — Doctor of Acupuncture and Registered Massage Therapist practicing at The G.O.A.T. Sport Medicine Clinic in Sherwood Park, Alberta.
Every patient receives a thorough clinical assessment followed by a personalized treatment plan. I work within a multidisciplinary team — chiropractors, physiotherapists, and manual osteopaths — ensuring your care is never isolated or one-dimensional.
Whether you're managing chronic pain, recovering from injury, navigating hormonal health, or simply looking to function better — this practice is built around you.
"Every treatment is tailored to the person sitting in front of me."
Treatments
Each modality is hand-selected based on your clinical presentation. Treatments are always personalized — never protocol-driven. Hover each card to learn more.
Pain & Injury Recovery
Pain affects how you move, how you sleep, and how you perform. Whether you're dealing with a recent injury or a long-standing condition, effective treatment starts with a thorough clinical assessment.
At Minerva, treatment is never one-size-fits-all. Acupuncture, cupping, massage therapy, electro-acupuncture, and gua sha are combined based on your clinical presentation that day.
Women's Health
Traditional Chinese medicine has supported women's health for centuries. Irregular cycles, fertility challenges, hormonal fluctuations, and pregnancy discomfort respond well to consistent, individualized acupuncture care.
Minerva offers a calm, knowledgeable space where your symptoms are taken seriously and your care goes beyond surface-level management.
Pregnancy & Fertility
During pregnancy, acupuncture supports nausea, fatigue, pelvic girdle pain, back and hip discomfort, sleep disruption, and labour preparation.
Fertility support includes cycle regulation, IVF adjunct care, and optimizing conditions for conception through evidence-informed TCM approaches.
PCOS, endometriosis, and hormonal imbalances respond well to consistent individualized care alongside lifestyle support.
That is what this space is for.
New Patients
Your initial assessment is unhurried, thorough, and always ends with treatment.
A thorough conversation covering your health history, current concerns, sleep, digestion, stress, and function. The goal is to understand the full picture.
Postural analysis, movement screening, orthopedic testing, and range of motion as appropriate. Your body provides clinical information that shapes the treatment.
Modalities are selected based on your clinical findings — acupuncture, cupping, massage, gua sha, electro-acupuncture, moxibustion, TDP heat lamp, or a combination.
Before you leave, we review findings, discuss what was treated, and outline a realistic care plan. Every question is answered before you go.
FAQ
Acupuncture needles are considerably finer than a hypodermic needle. Most patients feel minimal to no sensation. A mild heaviness or warmth is normal and a positive clinical sign. Many patients fall asleep during treatment.
Acute conditions often improve significantly within 3–6 sessions. Chronic presentations benefit from consistent care over a longer period. You will receive an honest outline at your first visit.
Many Alberta extended health plans cover acupuncture and massage therapy under separate benefits. Detailed receipts are provided for direct billing or personal reimbursement.
Loose, comfortable clothing allowing access to arms, legs, and lower back. Eat a light meal 1–2 hours before. Allow time for your intake form on your first visit.
Yes — cupping, gua sha, massage, moxibustion, and electro-acupuncture are frequently combined within a single session based on clinical need.
TDP lamp therapy uses far-infrared heat to penetrate deeply into tissue, supporting circulation and muscle relaxation. It is used alongside acupuncture, particularly for cold-type pain and chronic conditions.

From the Practice
What cupping actually does to your fascia
The marks left behind by cupping aren't bruises. They're a clinical sign of what's happening beneath the surface — and what your tissue is releasing.
